The County Press group has bought Isle of Wight digital agency Matrix Create.
Figures for the deal of the six person company (Glen Jones; Daniel Wavell; Nick Dover; Adam Drew; Jamie Thompson and Andrew Jones) haven’t been disclosed.
Being as it’s a digital world, it’s not surprising the group, whose profits historically came from the Isle of Wight County Press newspaper, would bring digital skills closer.
Previous purchases
Over the years the newspaper group has bought in several companies – including the printers Crossprint and the Weekly Ads paper (which they shut down).
CP Group: Holding nearly £2.5m in cash
Despite the continuing drop of circulation of the County Press (it fell to a new circulation low of 28,406 last December), the ad-heavy paper continues to contribute to the Group’s strong financial position. In the last publicly available financial report, the group had nearly £2.5m in cash and Net assets of over £5m.
