Sales of the Isle of Wight County Press are continuing to fall, mirroring the steady decline of recent years.
The decline has slowed down slightly from the large bump in the first half year of 2011 (as you can see from the graph below).
In the last six months of 2011 weekly sales averaged 33,972 compared with 35,384 in 2010 or a reduction in 1,412 copies a week, or 4%.
Independent figures
The independent figures are provided by the Audit Bureau of Circulations. It is expected other local weekly newspapers in the country will show similar falls in circulation.
For decades the County Press enjoyed regular growth reaching a peak of 44,000 in the early 2000s.
