Cowes High School students are today celebrating their best-ever Level 2 results with 75% of them having passed with 5 or more A* to C grades, an increase of 8% on last year.
96% of all students have gained at least 5 GCSE passes whilst 58% of students have achieved ‘Functional’ qualifications in English and Maths giving them a sound basis in workplace skills.
The overall pass rate continues to rise year-on-year and Pathfinder initiatives within the school and curriculum continue to have a positive impact on results.
Students find that taking GCSE qualifications in one year gives them a chance to develop learning in longer lessons and retain flexibility of choice to ensure learning is best-suited to their chosen pathways.
Cowes’ Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ curriculum and Partnership Working have enabled many students to exceed national expectations. By adding courses from other local providers to their GCSE studies, over 40 Cowes students have achieved more than 15 qualifications.
