Cowes High School Unaffected By Gov Funding Cuts. Others Uncertain

As had been discussed in the media over the last few days Education Secretary, Michael Gove, has set out a complete overhaul of capital investment in England’s schools.

Cowes High School Unaffected By Gov Funding Cuts. Others UncertainThis brings a halt to the Building Schools for the Future programme (BSF), which he said “in the light of the public finances, it would have been irresponsible to carry on regardless with an inflexible, and needlessly complex programme.”

VentnorBlog has received confirmation from the Department of Educations that the new High School in Cowes, will be unaffcted by the cuts.

715 schools around the UK will no longer be rebuilt or refurbished through BSF.

The future of the 123 academy projects in development which have not reached financial close will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This could affect some of the Island’s school.

We’re awaiting confirmation on the other schools.
