There are just a few more days to see the latest exhibition of Cowes-based marine artist Stuart Greenfield.
Force of Nature runs until runs daily from 9am to 5pm until Sunday 23rd November 2025 at The Rotunda, Northwood House, Cowes.
Stuart’s collection features oil and acrylic works that draw on his extensive experience of the sea, weather patterns, and human endurance in challenging conditions.
200 offshore races inform artistic vision
The artist has competed in more than 200 Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) offshore races, including 14 Fastnet races.
His paintings capture the ocean’s raw energy, moments of stillness, and unpredictable nature.
Before dedicating himself to painting full-time, Stuart ran an international advertising agency for over 30 years, directing creative campaigns for global brands.
He now applies his understanding of visual storytelling and composition to his marine artworks, where wind, water, and light combine with emotion and abstraction.
Artist’s Statement
Stuart says,
“The sea has always been my teacher.
“Every storm, every calm, every horizon tells a story. This collection is about nature’s power and the human spirit that meets it head-on.”
Final weekend features live painting
Visitors will find original paintings and limited-edition prints available for purchase at the exhibition.
The final weekend will see Stuart creating a live work on Saturday and Sunday. The artist will also discuss commission opportunities with interested visitors.
The exhibition blends fine art aesthetics with the visceral experience of life at sea.
The Rotunda can be found at Northwood House, Ward Avenue, Cowes PO31 8AZ.
