Cowes Yacht Haven Doing Well Despite Recession

It’s always good to hear a positive news story and especially so when it’s an Island business doing well in these hard financial times.

Cowes Yacht Haven Doing Well Despite RecessionCowes Yacht Haven who manage the marina in the sailing capital of the UK, tell us that the last year has been very good for them.

The marina alone has seen an increase of 6 per cent of boats booking berths.

Ten percent of those have come from Holland, Germany and France

Managing Director, Steve Cole, said: “We are very pleased with our visitor figures this year. Not only is it great for us as a business but it also means other companies in Cowes benefit from visiting trade. The pound has been in general very weak this year in comparison to the Euro, which is why we have seen increased numbers from Holland, Germany and France. We are quietly confident that this will continue into 2010 and hope that we will see even more new faces next year.”
