Cross-Solent travel disruption due to adverse weather (Updated)

As predicted, it’s been blowing a hoolie out there most of the night and is set to continue today.

If you follow our twitter stream, you’ll have seen our travel updates earlier this morning.

The HoverTravel service has been suspended due to adverse weather.

Wightlink’s Fishbourne ferry service is running 15 minutes behind schedule due to adverse weather.

Their FastCat service is running with 5-10 minute delays, but that may increase as they take on Hover passengers.

Update: 11.10:
Our L-Y car ferry service is experiencing some delays due to the weather & is running on a trip by trip basis. Thank you for your patience.

Update 13.52:
Wightlink say, “Our L-Y car ferry route is running on a trip by trip basis due to the weather & we hope that the next sailing will be 1405 from Lymington” and “Due to a broken down car on our P-F route we’re running about 10 minutes later- sorry!”

Update 5.44:
Wightlink say, “Running 20 minutes late on the cats. Unfortunately we’re running about 40 minutes late on our P-F route. Sorry for the inconvenience – we hope to catch up soon!”

Update 5.19
Red Funnel say, “Our High Speed service is currently suspended, next departures from Southampton to East Cowes are 1800 and 1930.”

Island Line is NOT running up Ryde Pier due to high tides. Service between Shanklin and Ryde Esplanade OK.

Expect further travel disruption later today as the wind speeds increase.
