Datum does the double at inaugural Marine Awards

Isle of Wight based manufacturer, Datum Electronics has scored a double success at the Maritime UK Solent Awards.

The inaugural event is the first regional maritime awards celebrating the success of the Solent’s outstanding regional maritime cluster. 

Datum celebrated as they were announced as winner of the innovation award as well as employer of the year at a glitzy ceremony held at the Leonardo Royal Grand Harbour in Southampton.

Lees: Truly an honour and an accomplishment to be proud of
James Lees, Managing Director of Datum Electronics stated,

“We are delighted to have won two marine focused awards that recognise our collaboration and dedication to supporting the maritime sector in CII, Carbon Reduction and Improved Vessel efficiency.

Rayment: They were worthy winners
The evening was attended by the elite of the marine industry in the south as well as dignitaries such as the Lord Mayor of Southampton, Jacqui Rayment, who said,

“It was lovely to be at the Maritime UK Solent Awards 22, I was delighted to see Datum winning two awards, an excellent result for them as they represent one of the best companies in the industry.

“In a tight field on the night, they were worthy winners, we are lucky to have such a thriving Maritimes industry strategically located along the south coast, and I wish them all the best going forward.”

The awards success for Datum follows a flurry of recent award nominations as well as a recent award for innovation at the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce business excellence awards.
