Davis Knight and Bagshots win prestigious building awards

Two Isle of Wight-based building firms have received regional recognition in the 2025 Federation of Master Builders’ South Awards.

Davis Knight Renovations, based in Newport, won the Bathroom Project Award, while Cowes company Bagshots Ltd took home the Kitchen Project Award.

Bathroom transformation earns praise
Davis Knight Renovations impressed judges with their work on two bathrooms in a coastal home.

The team combined handmade tiles, specialist lime wash finishes, and bespoke details to create two distinctive but complementary spaces.

The company was founded by two Islanders who returned to the south of the Island after working away, aiming to build a business rooted in quality and community.

They said,

“We see it as a privilege to work on buildings and with people that continue to form part of our heritage and future in a place we are so passionate about.”

Kitchen design also celebrated
Bagshots Ltd received the Kitchen Project Award for a farmhouse-style kitchen created for a family home.

The design features a large island, solid oak and quartz worktops, and child-safe elements such as bullnose edges and pocket doors.

Client Bella Mather said,

“Our kitchen is practical, beautiful, and a joy to cook in. The Bagshots team went above and beyond to deliver a space better than we imagined — we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.”

Next step: national awards
Both Davis Knight and Bagshots will now go forward to the national finals of the Master Builder Awards, which take place in Manchester this September.
