Dead kayaker mystery: Police release video appeal to help identify man

Police have issued a video appeal to help solve the mystery surrounding the discovery of a body in a kayak on Sandown Beach in September.

Police have previously released CCTV of the man, as well as an e-fit image kayakerhoping it will bring forward someone to identify him.

Discovered in Sandown
The man’s body was found on Yaverland Beach, Sandown, on Friday 11 September, having last been seen three days earlier in Newhaven, Sussex.

He is believed to have had an Irish accent and described as:

  • White
  • Approximately mid 20s – mid 30s
  • Blue Eyes
  • Dark hair
  • Nice teeth
  • He was described as ‘well built’ and was wearing beige shorts and a blue zip-up jacket
  • The kayak was a yellow and black ‘blow up’ Sevylor Conrad
