Dense Fog Causing Cross Solent Delays Again (update 2)

Dense fog is causing problems in the Solent again today.

Fog by Allan MarshWightlink have had to cancel their 6am and 7am crossings from Lymington and their 6.50am and 7.50am crossings from Yarmouth this morning.

They also say “Both Portsmouth routes are currently on time, but QHM have just implemented fog routine, so please expect some delays to service. Apologies”

Update 08.08: Also cancelled are the 08:00 from Lymington and 08:50 from Yarmouth. The Portsmouth-Fishbourne car ferry is experiencing delays of approximately 15 minutes.

Red Funnel delays
Red Funnel texted customers this morning saying, “Due to Dense Fog in the Solent, possible delays. Please plan your journeys accordingly”.

Their prediction was correct as fog resulted in “Jets from both Soton and West Cowes left 5 mins late due to dense fog, unfortunately we expect further delays this morning.”

They now say the next Red Jet departure will be approximately 07.55 from both Southampton and West Cowes.

No boover with the Hover
Hovertravel are not reporting any problems yet.
Update 8.28: Hover is now running a shuttle service. Delays are expected.
