Dinosaur Isle: Decision deferred until after local election

Good news for the Friends and supporters of Dinosaur Isle as the latest Forward Plan reveals a deferment in any decision on the future of the attraction.

The Isle of Wight council had planned to dispose of Dinosaur Isle to an ‘alternative provider’ as part of their Capital Receipts Disposal Programme approved by Cllr George Brown last year.

However, the latest Forward Plan reveals that the decision will be deferred to the end of June 2013.

The reason given is “further investigation into grant conditions required, to help any future successor body to attract investment”.

Disposal of Dinosaur Isle was first raised back in November 2010.
