Last night emergency services, including firefighters, the coastguard and the RSPCA spent two hours trying to rescue a missing dog in Ventnor.
Apparently, at around 9pm last night, a lurcher managed to find itself trapped in between the rocks near the Spyglass Inn.
The heroes who came to the rescue used a heat-seeking camera and torches to locate the mischievous mutt who was eventually returned to its owner safe and sound.
Good job the US Coastguard didn’t get called in, or we might’ve had this lot on our doorstep. Thanks to fellow newsman, Duncan Smith of IW Radio News for sending through the lead!
