Isle of Wight music promoters, Vaguely Sunny, present an evening with Island singer, Nina Ross, on Friday 13th May from 7pm.

Nina takes inspiration from a variety of music genres enjoying alternative / art pop, electronica, jazz, folk and classical.

Her influences include: Beth Gibbons (Portishead), Sophie Hunger, Agnes Obel, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Melody Gardot, along with ethereal/dream pop and trip hop such as Cocteau Twins and Massive Attack.

A pared down relaxed approach
Enjoy a pared down relaxed approach as Nina delivers a set of songs from the American Songbook such as Round Midnight, Nature Boy, I’m A Fool to Want You, along with a jazz approach to contemporary songs by Portishead, David Bowie, Joni Mitchell and Plastic Mermaids.

Nina will be joined at Northwood House by George Bone on piano, Jon Thorne on double bass and Chris Jones on drums.

The gig takes place at Northwood House on Friday 13th May from 7pm.
