A pop-up Vintage and Craft Fayre organised for the weekend before Christmas hopes to raise awareness and money for the good work of the Isle of Wight Foodbank.
Lauren Fry has pulled together the event with the aim of raising a decent amount of money to support the work of Foodbank on the Isle of Wight.
There’ll be a variety of stalls in the Rope Store Gallery at Quay Arts Centre (19th December between 11am and 4pm), all of whom will be making donations from the day to Foodbank.
Free art workshops
Lauren will be running free art workshops, as well as selling a range of festive crafts and clothing.
She says,
“I’ve organised this event on my own as a gesture to the Foodbank and an acknowledgment of more traditional Christmas ideologies of family, craft and simple pleasures, an escape from the commercialism and materialism of modern day festivities.
“My Year 11 (16 year olds) tutor group at Carisbrooke College have been helping as they selected The Foodbank as their class charity. They’ve been busy making bunting and cutting felt and some are also giving up their Saturday to come and help out on the day … people really do underestimate the generosity and kind heartedness of the Islands teenagers.”
The Fayre will feature stalls by Loti6, Antiek, Studio Wren, Seek and Find and Made for Keeping.
