Fans, sponsors and the media will have the opportunity to have their first look at the Wightlink Warriors 2017 squad on Saturday 8th April at the club’s Press and Practice day at the Andrew Younie Smallbrook Stadium.
The day which will be free to attend will include rider introductions, photo opportunities, on track practice and the pre-season party.
Tickets for which will be £5 for adults and as always kids with the Warriors are free.
Wightlink Warriors Commercial Director Barry Bishop said,
“We have announced this date early so that people can get it into their diaries and on their Warriors calendars now. Last season’s press day was amazing and it was from this point the Warrior Way buzz started at Smallbrook, so we want to start off the same way in 2017 too.
“We are hoping to increase the press coming along to include all media services and we hope they will join in with the party atmosphere.
“It will be another fun packed day and your chance to get up close and mingle with the team and get to know them better. We can confirm the press and practice will be followed with more time with the riders and a party.”
The Vince Mapley Memorial meeting
And there is more diary news too with news that the Warriors on track season will start on April 13th with the Vince Mapley Memorial Meeting.
The meeting is an individual competition featuring all the Warriors for 2017 and some guests from other clubs.
Last year’s meeting was won by the Warriors Skipper James Cockle and he wants to do it again. James said,
“The 2016 Vince Mapley Memorial meeting was fantastic for me and not just because I won it. It was my first real chance to hear the fans noise in a meeting as well as getting to grips with the track. It was a great opening meeting in 2016 and I really want to make it two in a row.”
