As mentioned earlier in the week, the Green Man Festival in Wales is holding a competition for musicians and bands with a chance of winning the opening slot.
OnTheWight featured Isle of Wight four piece band, Lucid (who are now in the lead with 1363 votes) as well as The Wild Oats (not far behind with 1,130 votes).
Another Isle of Wight musician is hoping he’ll have a chance at winning the opening slot and would love readers to vote for him too.
Doug Alldred
Doug Alldred, who plays with a number of Island bands such as The Weatherkings and STD has entered the competition as a solo artist.
The blurb describing his style says,
A hint of early Bowie and a pinch of Roger Waters combined with a healthy urge to rock a crowd make Doug Alldred an unusual Singer/Songwriter. Fresh from a storming set at the Isle of Wight Festival’s infamous Kashmir Cafe, Doug would relish a bigger stage and a bigger audience for his songs.
