A volunteer drone search team has issued an urgent appeal for help to find a dog who went missing from a garden in Chillerton on the Isle of Wight earlier this month.
Muffin escaped on the morning of 11th June 2026 and has not been seen since.
Drone SAR For Lost Dogs IOW now leads the effort to bring him home, and the team’s concern for his welfare grows with each passing day.

A nervous dog who fears people
Muffin frightens easily and shies away from both adults and children, which makes the search considerably more difficult.
Anyone who calls to him, chases him or tries to catch him risks scaring him into running, which would set back attempts to recover him safely.
How the public can help
The search team asks that anyone who spots Muffin resists the instinct to approach.
- Do not call him.
- Do not follow him.
- Do not try to catch him.
Instead, note the exact location, the direction he travels and the time you see him, then pass that information on straight away.

Even the smallest sighting helps the team map where Muffin has been and predict where he might head next.
