East Cowes Bestival Traffic Stretching To Whippingham Reported

We’re hearing from VentnorBlog readers that the post-Bestival traffic to the Red Funnel ferry in East Cowes is trailing all the way back to Folly Road/The Forge in Whippingham.

East Cowes Bestival Traffic Stretching To Whippingham ReportedAround midday things sounded a less serious, with Keith Blacklock reporting that the traffic was tailed back to Osborne House.

Watch out: Speeding through Beatrice Avenue
Tina Nichols: “Be warned, there are taxis and buses flying through Beatrice Avenue far too fast as a rat run… people are driving like maniacs given the weather and traffic conditions.”

Tina sums up the traffic situation as: “Just avoid East Cowes unless you really have to make the journey!”

Chain ferry might be better
A helpful tip came from Kirstie Eade, “When I went off for the school run, 2:25pm tailed right back onto brow of the hill on the sloop outside Whippingham. Came back on the chain ferry, not bad at all.”

Good luck – and be safe out there.
