If you’re not interested in the ‘ins and outs’ of technology, but can see the advantage of your business, yourself or your family having a Web site, there’s a course that starting soon that’s been designed for you.
The course creator, Chris Bonney, has spent the last 20 years working in technology, so he knows his onions.
More importantly, he’s spent years explaining what might initially appear as complex computers matters to non-technical people – a pretty rare skill.
Chris tells us “They really don’t need any Web knowledge beyond having used the Internet or browsed the Web.”
Step-by-step guide
Those who go on the course aren’t going to be bamboozelded with buzzwords and techno-fog, but be taken through, stage by stage, the steps to creating your own Web site – from picking and registering a name for your site, through designing and building your site, all the way through to publicising it on search engines.
He sums it up, “The Internet really isn’t that complicated once you grasp a couple of the core concepts.”
“As long as you can attach a file on to an email, you’ll be fine,” Chris tells us.
Three half day sessions
The course runs over three weeks, with each week having a single half day session.
There are two courses – one running in the afternoons on Thursday and the other, Saturday morning. The first course starts on 6 November.
Based in Shanklin, all of the equipment is provided, as are course materials for you to take away after the event.
A working Web site completed
Best of all, you’ll finish the course with a working Web site sitting on the Internet for prospective customers, or friends and family to look at.
Those on the course starting in November will be able to complete their Web site in time for promoting their business over Christmas.
Early bird discounts
Chris is offering ‘early bird’ discounts if you book before 22 October for only £225 – but you must mention VentnorBlog.
At these prices, it’s considerably cheaper than you getting a site developed by anybody else (even at mate’s rates) – and you’re end up learning how to do it!
