As part of the Ventnor 2007 survey that is in full swing at the moment, a discussion was started on the forum a couple of weeks ago.
One suggestion to come out of the survey was to tidy up and enhance the Flowersbrook area. Forum member, Matthew Chatfield who is also Parks & Countryside Manager for the IW Council came on at the end of last week and posted this message …
If anyone’s serious about doing some work down there as a volunteer, we would be delighted to hear from you, and could possibly assist with insurance, tools, etc. It is quite a sensitive area as Waspman quite rightly said, so we would not have carte blanche to do absolutely anything… but nonetheless, there is plenty that could be done there and elsewhere in that area, and we’d be pleased to facilitate it.
