We were fortunate enough to meet Eric last month at the opening of his exhibitions (three in total) at Quay Arts and caught up with him after the showing of David George’s film short about his life and work.
This is without doubt, one of the best exhibitions that we’ve seen at Quay Arts over the past few years and will be returning several more times over the next month or so to take in the beauty of his work.
The interview is split into two sections.
The first begins with Eric talking about his work, inspiration and choices for materials and landscapes.
The second relates specifically to the film short, The Brook and the Bridge, shot by Eric and edited by his son, Nick.
Eric is a man who considers all his actions and reactions, so don’t be put off by the pauses in the interview. We could’ve edited them out, but felt it important to accurately reflect the conversation.
