Eric Jackson: ‘All youngsters can thrive at 6th Form with the right support’

Eric Jackson said,

“We are delighted that the students at Ryde Academy 6th Form have done so well and secured the places they were aiming for. Although the current cohort is small the whole range of achievements – from those students who attained academic excellence to those who succeeded in vocational subjects shows that all youngsters can thrive at 6th Form with the right support.”

Lucy Diamond has gained a place to study French Studies at university in Paris.

Carla Rintelen from Germany joined the 6th Form last year, initially on a one year exchange scheme through the EF programme. She decided to return to complete her studies and has successfully earned a place to study at Aberdeen University.

Jennifer Elliott has worked consistently well throughout her time in the 6th Form and has achieved a place at Surrey University to start a career in Mental Health Nursing.

Rhiannon Cox has gained a scholarship from Aberystwyth and James Rimmer has achieved a place at Chichester University to study Football Management and Coaching.

Head of 6th Form, Miss Muncaster said

“We are thrilled with the success of all our students. They have shown dedication and persistence with their studies and now have the opportunity to move on to pursue their ambitions further. We wish them well in their chosen studies and careers.”
