Remember that the protesters at the Magic Roundabout, outside ex-Vestas plant in Newport, were evicted two Fridays ago – less than a week before the planning meeting where the Cheverton Down wind turbines were turned down?
Well it looks like that might have been a bit of good timing for the protesters, as they’ve now been able to take their protest up to the Capital. Pretty much bang in the middle of the Capital – Trafalgar Square.
A rally in support of action on climate change took part in London on Saturday called The Wave. An estimated 40,000 people took part in it and as a twist in the tail, some people decided to setup a Camp for Climate Action in Trafalgar Square.
A couple of the tents that were evicted from the Magic Roundabout on the Island have now appeared in that camp, the most distinctive being the green and blue tunnel tent.
