Quay Arts Centre in Newport are hoping that OnTheWight readers with a little time on their hands could lend some help over the next couple of months.
The arts charity which provides an incredible hub for all things creative on the Isle of Wight are short on volunteers at the moment.
Volunteers needed for Martin Creed show
They’ve a desperate need for volunteers to work in The West Gallery on the days listed below for the Martin Creed exhibition.
Visual Arts Project Manager, Georgia Newman, told OnTheWight that visitor numbers to the touring show MARTIN CREED : ARTIST ROOMS have been very high – not surprising given the coup of attracting the show to the Island.
What you get out of volunteering
Quay Arts volunteers get a great deal out of their time at the arts centre in Newport.
Volunteer, Arda Ohannessian said,
“I have been volunteering at Quay Arts for four years now, lovely relaxed atmosphere – always a pleasure to turn up, you meet new people as well as old friends (and invariably some amazing new cake to try!)”
Paul Wood is also a volunteer, he said,
“If you enjoy the arts and have few hours spare time, become a gallery steward at Quay Arts. It’s a varied and stimulating experience. Meet the public and enjoy some good stuff on the walls. The coffee and cake is good as well.”
