Farewell from Kurt Gänzl

Kurt has come to the end of his time on the Isle of Wight. We’re very grateful to him for sharing his musings of his time here and he has asked us to publish this message for VB readers. Ed

Farewell from Kurt GanzlDear Ventnor Bloggers and Isle of Wighters,

Thanks so much for giving me a couple of really lively and enjoyable months on your Island.

They weren’t supposed to be ‘lively’, those months.

I came here for a quiet time, to sit in my suite up at Hermitage Court Farm, and do some serious work on my current book. But, somehow, I got into Maunderings and Musings instead. Not to mention eating and drinking and gallivanting and exploring. And, best of all, meeting people.

But now it’s over, and it’s time for me to continue on, to Europe and to New Zealand and wherever else Life may lead me. Which is pretty sure to include, once again, and before too long, the Isle of Wight.

Thanks, Simon and Sal, for inviting me to be part of the VB community during my time here and thanks, too, to all of you who have enjoyed and commented on various of my bits and pieces.

Cheerio, for now, and look after this little Paradise of yours until I come again

Sincerely

Kurt Gänzl

PS: I should report that I kept my vow. In two months and hundreds of miles of driving on the Island, I did not put one penny in a parking meter. It can be done!
