Feature films on offer this week at the Isle of Wight Film Festival

OnTheWight is proud to be sponsoring the Feature film section of the Isle of Wight Film Festival again this year.

As mentioned last week, there’s a varied selection of feature films being screened between Thursday and Saturday.

The first in the competition shows on Thursday afternoon, when there’s a double bill.

At 2pm you can see Si-o-se Pol.

Facing death, terminally ill Parvis Karimpour wants to reconcile with his daughter Nasrin.

He makes his way to Madrid where he believes his only child, who fled from Iran years ago, may now live.

Finding shelter in a city which is battered by the economic crisis, Pravis meets two other struggling migrants and the search for Nasrin becomes their common quest.

This is followed by Masterpiece at 4pm.

Paul Edward Robson is found dead in a remote caravan deep in the Derbyshire Dales, buried under a mass of filmmaking paraphernalia, cameras, film stock and editing equipment.

There are also hundreds of notebooks detailing a film that Paul was making at the time of his death; ‘Masterpiece’ is that film.

On Friday at 6pm you can watch Keeping Rosy,

Charlotte is a woman completely defined by her career. All she wants in life is to be cut a slice of the advertising agency she has devoted her life working at.

However, the fragility of her perfect existence is exposed when, after finding out she’s been shafted in the boardroom, she returns home and takes her anger out on her cleaner.

While Charlotte’s life disintegrates, we follow her on a heart-racing journey of self-discovery, atonement and danger as she fights for a future that is rosy.

Saturday sees the final Feature film in the competition, SuperBob,

Robert Kenner is a lonely man looking for love. Today, if he can actually get his boss to give him some time off, he is going on his first date for 6 years. Oh, and he is also the world’s only SuperHero.

Tickets for all films are £5 each. You can book in advance or pay on the door.

As well as feature films, there are many short films being screened. Check Events OnTheWight for full details.
