Five New Year babies born on the Isle of Wight

The 1st January 2017 saw five babies – three boys and two girls – born at St. Mary’s Hospital, Newport, Isle of Wight.

  • The first to arrive was a baby boy who was born at 06:13am, a son for Helen and Mark Kingston of Newport. Baby Arthur weighed in at 3.85kg (8lb 7oz).
  • He was followed at 13.00pm by Alice Turvey, a daughter for Grace and Luke Turvey. Their daughter weighed in at 3.46kg (7.10lb).
  • Next to arrive at 13.08pm was baby Woody, a son for Katie and James Homes, of East Cowes. Baby Woody weighed in at 3.78kg (8lb 5oz)
  • Finally to arrive was Romy Florance born at 17.28pm, a daughter for Claire and James Hoyal of Shanklin. Baby Romy weighed in at 3.53kg (7lb 13oz).
  • Another baby boy was born with no further information is available.

This is a fantastic way to start the New Year and thank you to all our Maternity staff for working over the holiday period.
