Those who use the Cowes-East Cowes chain ferry regularly probably already know this, but anyone who doesn’t, be aware that from Monday 16th March, the floating bridge will be taken out of service.
It’s part of a re-fit operation which is expected to take about a week to complete.
A special launch service will be available for foot passengers but all other traffic will be diverted via Newport.
Depending on weather conditions, it’s anticipated that the chain ferry will be back in operation on the 23rd March.
