Essential maintenance work is to be carried out on Cowes floating bridge next week in advance of an expected increase in visitor numbers during Cowes Week and the summer holidays.
Night work
During the work, which is scheduled to take place between 6pm and 11pm on Thursday 29th July, there will be a replacement passenger launch service between Cowes and East Cowes.
Work on hydraulic ram
The planned maintenance work is to replace and upgrade parts on a hydraulic ram which operates the prow.
The scheduling of the work is designed to ensure the service is up and running for a busy August, and the remainder of the summer.
