While the floating bridge was out for its annual maintenance and inspection by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) a couple of weeks ago, it was discovered that further maintenance is required that can only be undertaken in a dry dock.
Therefore the floating bridge will be taken out of service from today (Tuesday 22 April) for approximately one week.
Diversions are in place for motorists, and a passenger launch is available for pedestrians.
