Four more Islanders arrested for conspiracy to kidnap

Readers may remember that last month police arrested an Island man on conspiracy to kidnap.

Hampshire Constabulary have today issued an update on the case and confirmed that four other Island men have been arrested and charged with conspiracy to kidnap.

A 26 year old man , of Sandown, Isle of Wight, was charged on September 24, 2013 with charged with conspiracy to kidnap.

A 42 year old man, of Sandown, Isle of Wight, was charged on September 27, 2013 with conspiracy to kidnap and assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH).

A 22 year old man, was charged on October 12, 2013 with conspiracy to kidnap and assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH).

A 26 year old man, of Shanklin, Isle of Wight, was charged on October 15, 2013 with conspiracy to kidnap and assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH).

Released on bail
They go on to say that the 47-year-old man from the Isle of Wight who was arrested on September 24, 2013 on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap is on police bail until December 3, 2013 pending further enquiries.

A 19-year-old woman from Freshwater, Isle of Wight who was arrested on September 23, 2013 on suspicion of assisting an offender is also on police bail until November 13, 2013 pending further enquiries.

A spokesperson said,

“An investigation is continuing led by Isle of Wight CID, the Hampshire Major Investigation Team (HMIT) and the Serious Organised Crime Unit (SOCU).
