Frank James: Hopes that the site will flourish again

This in from Tanja Rebel following Sunday’s latest gathering at the former Frank James Hospital. Ed

Our Frank James Cream Tea was successful, not in the least as Sarah Matthews and Venetia Worthington, descendants of the James family (Frank James is Sarah’s great-great uncle!), came to offer their help and support.

It was great to learn more about their interesting family history and Sarah and Venetia put down some good gardening work too! Both were quite upset by the state of the building and promised to do what they can to see it restored again.

Support from MP
Isle of Wight MP, Andrew Turner and his partner Carol Dennett visited as well, and their staunch support for the cause is much appreciated.

We also saw many new faces, people who were curious (but not too impressed) about the current state of the building. To let it deteriorate even further would be nothing less than criminal!

Hopes that Frank James can flourish again
Our hope now is that – with the help of the new Council – things will soon start to move in the right direction. If the current owners cannot face up to their responsibility they should sell it to someone who can and who is willing to make Frank James flourish again.

Kind regards from the Frank Rebel
