Looking for somewhere to hang out between shows at Ventnor Fringe? This year, The Roaming Melodies will be hosting free jazz concerts every night in the Fringe Village, with a rotating mix of musicians curated by Sol Grimshaw.
During the ten days (19th-28th July), this stage will provide a perfect place to soak up the sounds of a time gone by. From the Parisian wine bars of the 30s to some old-time string tunes, a varied line-up over the festival provides a lovely place to relax to some music whilst trying some food from the market.
Entry is free from 7-9 pm every night at The Nest in Ventnor Fringe Village. It’s an excellent opportunity to unwind after a day of exploring other festival activities.
The Bandstand Experience
The Bandstand, located in the main Fringe Village in Ventnor Park, is another great spot to enjoy free live music and performances every day. It’s set amongst bars and food traders, making it the perfect place to either spend the day soaking up the atmosphere or stop off between other shows and workshops.
Check out the timetables for each day during the Fringe Festival to plan your visit. The Bandstand promises a range of performances that cater to diverse musical tastes, ensuring something for everyone.
Ventnor Art Collective
For art enthusiasts, the Ventnor Art Collective offers an eclectic display of art representing local artists. The group meets to organise workshops, share ideas, and support one another in the arts. The display includes paintings, linocuts, sculptures, decorative hangings, ceramics, cards, and much more.
Artistic Walk
This exhibit is housed in two venues opposite each other: the House Exhibit at 27 Madeira Rd and the Courtyard at 38A, weather permitting. These locations are open on selected days throughout the festival from 1 pm to 4 pm. Take a walk to the eastern side of Ventnor for an artistic afternoon. Note that there are steps and uneven ground.

Independent Arts, an Isle of Wight charity established in 1987, uses the arts to improve wellbeing, quality of life, and reduce social isolation. These sessions offer creative development and the chance to meet new people and be part of a community.

The Makers Market at St Catherine’s Church will be held on both Fridays and Saturdays of the festival. Entry is free, providing an opportunity to browse stalls of various makers showcasing art, jewellery, crafts, clothes, cosmetics, and more.
Whether you’re into music, art, or crafts, Ventnor Fringe Festival offers a rich array of free events to enjoy throughout its duration.
