Thanks to the IW NHS for sharing details of this upcoming event. Ed

A free health and wellbeing event will be visiting Ventnor on Friday 25th September 2015.

Between 11am and 7pm people living in and around Ventnor will be able to find out more about a variety of health issues and the Island’s ‘My Life a Full Life’ programme. The event is being held at Salisbury Gardens, Dudley Road, Ventnor, PO38 1EJ.

Event organiser Paul Savill from Community Action IW says,

“This free event is an opportunity for Islanders to make connections about how you can stay healthy, stay at home longer and live life to the full. As the population on the Island grows older and the demand placed on health and social care gets greater it will be important for Islanders to embrace the new ways in which care will be provided. This event is designed to bring services to the local area for local people to find out more. There will also be an opportunity to find out more about the Island’s innovative My Life a Full Life programme.”

Those attending the event will be able to find out more about:

  • Telehealth – IW NHS Trust
  • Mobisle – People Matter IW
  • Care Navigators – Age UK
  • Telecare – Wightcare
  • Preventing pressure ulcers – IW NHS Trust
  • Optio Car Service
  • Healthwatch IoW

Paul continued,

“As well as members of the public we’re hoping that a wide range of people will visit us including health and social care staff who work in the NHS, the independent sector and for voluntary organisations. Join us for a cuppa and take in the stunning views from Salisbury Gardens whilst finding out about playing the My Life a Full Life board game.”
