Free winter wellbeing walks in Pan aim to combat isolation and inactivity

Residents in Pan and the surrounding area are invited to take part in a new series of free Winter Wellbeing Walks designed to help people stay active, connected, and positive through the darker months.

Led by local Healthy Habits Coach, Rachel Richards, (WightWays) funded by Pan Together, the walks will take place in from Downside Community Centre on Tuesday mornings at 10am, starting 4th November 2025.

What to expect
Each 45–60 minute walk will include gentle movement, seasonal wellbeing prompts, and time to share a hot drink and conversation at the Isobel Community Cafe afterwards.

To ensure the walks are fully inclusive, warm coats, waterproofs, hats, gloves and suitable footwear will be made available to anyone who needs them, with support from community donations.

A simple way to bring people together
Rachel Richards said,

“Winter can be a difficult time for many people, especially with darker days and colder weather.

“These walks are a simple way to bring people together, keep moving, and feel better in ourselves.”

The Winter Wellbeing Walks are open to all adults, particularly women and anyone experiencing isolation, low motivation, or reduced physical activity.
