Following the delayed introduction of the changes to parking charges across the Isle of Wight, members of Freshwater Parish council have expressed their disappointment at the abolition of the 30 minutes free parking in Moa Place car park, just prior to Christmas.
A spokesperson on behalf of the parish council told OnTheWight,
“Freshwater Parish Council were greatly disappointed by the sudden loss of the free half hour car parking at Moa Place car park, before the Christmas period.
“We know how dependent many of our vulnerable residents are on this facility. Freshwater Parish Council were given the impression that no changes to the existing arrangements would be implemented until the New Year.
“We have been in discussion with officers from the Isle of Wight Council and County Councillors to endeavour to secure the future of the free half hour parking at Moa Place on behalf of our residents, and we will continue to fight for the reinstatement of this valued community resource.”
