The announcements coming out of the Isle of Arts Festival HQ just don’t stop. This latest news in from Gilly. Ed
The Jam were one of the most iconic bands of the punk rock era. From The Jam have emerged from the chrysalis of that band to deliver all the hits in raging good form.
Going Underground, Town Called Malice, Down in the Tube Station at Midnight, Beat Surrender. These are the rock anthems that shaped a generation and continue to hold currency. And our grand finale in the Festival Marquee on Sunday 21 April will be the kind of incendiary live performances that sealed the reputation of The Jam.
Bruce Foxton
Bassist Bruce Foxton heads From The Jam. A part of the English rock and roll establishment, Bruce was a driving force powering the rhythm section in The Jam. His versatility is evident, taking lead vocals on David Watts’ and News Of The World.
After The Jam split, he had a hit with the single Freak and collaborated with other musicians, before spending 15 years with another seminal British band, Stiff Little Fingers.
Russell Hastings
Russell Hastings, who has been working with Rick Buckler since November 2005, has thrilled audiences nationwide this year with his authentic and passionate interpretation in performance (vocals and guitar) of The Jam’s back catalogue.
Energy, pride, execution and dynamic delivery remain his hallmarks as he continues to collaborate with Bruce as From The Jam.
From their début in 1977, in just five tumultuous years The Jam had amazing chart success with 18 singles and seven albums to make the UK top 40. Their last five albums were all top ten hits and their last eight singles made it into the top ten.
The ultimate two-tone experience
We have modified our event timetable to create a music spectacular on the last night of the festival. Earlier on Sunday evening, The Skatonics, who are rapidly making a name for themselves as one of the best Ska bands in the UK, will be unleashing some classic sounds from the 1960s and two-tone era of the 70s and 80s.
Ticket offer
Tickets for the From The Jam gig are priced at £21 and £12 for The Skatonics session.
However fans of two-tone and From The Jam will have the opportunity to buy ticket to both at a special price of £30.
What a way to finish the festival!
