Rapid ramblers make good use of grant

A great use of funds and in double quick time too. Well done to all involved.

Thanks to Susan for sharing this positive story from the West Wight Landscape Partnership (WWLP). Ed

The WWLP have awarded grants to more than 50 projects under our Landscape Heritage Grants programme over the past four years.

However, the award for the most rapid delivery of works must go to the IW Ramblers.

Even before the ink was dry on the cheque issued earlier this month the Ramblers had engaged Peter and Marcus of Clifford Matthews to construct new steps at the treacherous path leading from Hannover Point car park to Compton Beach.

In seemingly the blink of an eye the work was compete.

Well done to all involved.

Here’s what the steps looked like before the work.

Well done! I saw that had been completed yesterday. Congratulations to them.

Terrific job – well done! Nice to see there are craftsmen still able to work on the island and we all can enjoy their work!
