The Island’s MP, Andrew Turner, has invited the Isle of Wight Council’s Director of Economy and Environment, Stuart Love, to the next meeting of the Isle of Wight Technology Group to talk about opportunities for Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) funding; what’s available and how to apply for it.

Set up by Mr Turner last year, the Technology Group is made up of Industry leaders from Island based Advanced Manufacturing, Electronics and Engineering companies. The group has been working together on raising the profile of Island technology businesses, and on finding solutions to the collective challenges they experience, such as recruitment, funding, expansion and resource sharing.

“Funding is often a barrier to growth”
Mr Turner said :

“We have innovative companies here on the Island, many of whom experience very similar issues. Funding is often a barrier to growth which is why I felt it would be helpful to get Stuart Love along to talk about the funding that is available through the Local Enterprise Partnership, and how businesses can access this.

“If you would like to join the Technology Group or would just like to find out more about LEP funding, please contact my office to book a place at the next meeting.

“It will be held on Tuesday 13th August at 2pm at In Flight Peripherals Headquarters, Elm Lane, Calbourne.”
