News of a fantastic new event at The Garlic Farm has reached VB.
We know that lots of our readers are big fans of interesting, quality food, so are going to let you in on a little secret.
Now the nights have drawn in and the Island is seeing more wet and windy weather, the Garlic Farm Cafe have come up with an idea which should cheer us all up. It looks like it could be a winner.
As their many loyal customers will already know, the Garlic Farm Cafe normally only opens for lunch. However, starting next week that all changes as they launch the Garlic Farm Cafe Supper Club.
Not just supper – it’s a Two-part event
Tom from the Garlic Farm tells us more, “The evening will be made up of two parts – an ‘event’ and a ‘supper’.
“Each ‘event’ will give you the opportunity to learn something new, whether its improving your culinary skills; advancing your knowledge of fine wines; being inspired by a visiting speaker or enjoying some light, musical entertainment.”
Sounds great, but it doesn’t stop there.
We understand that every week, there’ll be a different culinary theme.
The first will be ‘We love Local’. As you can probably guess from the title, it’s a menu compiled entirely of Island produce, featuring delicious ingredients from the likes of Moor Farm, The Chestnut Farm, Farmer Jack’s, Isle of Wight Cheese Co, Natural Wight Mushrooms and The Garlic Farm, natch.
There are some fab ideas for future events such as ‘Poacher’s Pocket,’ ‘Fresh from the sea’, ‘Best of British’ and ‘Classically French.’
Wine-tasting and canapes
The lovely Carla Bertolotti, the UK’s first specialist importer of Uruguayan Wines, will be leading the first event with a wine tasting and canapes from 7pm.
Once it’s time to sit down and enjoy the rest of the evening, prepare yourselves for Wood pigeon, with Oyster and Shitake Mushrooms, Wilted Spinach and Toasted Hazel Nuts.
Or perhaps you’d prefer the Roasted Pork Loin with Winter Vegetable Bubble & Squeak and Smoked Garlic plus Mersley Orchard Apple Sauce?
A delicious dessert, the cheese board and coffee bring the evening to an end.
When and how much?
As we said, the first event takes place next Friday, 26th November.
Tickets cost £35 per head. This includes a bottle of wine per table of two and of course, the pre-supper event.
Places are limited so act now to reserve your ticket by calling the restaurant on 01983 867333.
As usual, don’t forget to say where you heard about.
