We initially met up with four Carisbrooke students – James, Hayley, Rosie and Charlie to find out how they’d done in their GCSE and what they plans for future education were.
The collection of so many high grades was impressive.
James had achieved 7 A*; Rosie and Hayley – 3A* with ‘the rest’ being As; Charlie – 5 A* and a distinction, ‘the rest’ were As and a B.
A-Levels at Carisbrooke too
Each of the students wanted to stay on at Carisbrooke to take their A-Levels – interestingly they were generally the ‘classic’ subjects like Rosie, who planned to study History, Biology, Chemistry and French.
Asking Charlie about his plans for University, he appeared to have a wise head on his shoulders, “I think it is wise to start thinking about university now, but not to take it too seriously at the moment and see what you start doing at AS and how you cope at A-Level.” he planned to study Maths, Business, History, Film and English Literature.
James, like all of the others was also staying at Carisbrooke to do A-Levels in Chemistry, Biology, Maths and History.
Holly joined us near the end and she gathered an equally impressive 6 A*, 5 As and a B. Her A-levels plans are History, Psychology, French and English Literature.
