Generator Stolen From Building Site: Police Appeal

Tut, tut, someone’s pinched something that doesn’t belong to them. This is just in from the police. Ed

Police are on the trail of thieves after a generator was reported stolen from a building site in Freshwater on the Isle of Wight.

Officers are making enquiries into the theft, which is alleged to have happened between 5pm on Wednesday, October 13 and 7.50am on Thursday, October 14, 2010.

Investigating officer PC Tim Campany from the West Wight Safer Neighbourhoods team said: “The generator was padlocked behind a hut on the building site on Colwell Road in Freshwater.

“We believe at least two people were involved in the theft because of the generator’s weight, and the bumpy, muddy ground on the building site.

“Forensic enquiries are continuing, and we are publishing a picture of the generator to help find this valuable equipment and the thieves responsible as soon as possible.”

The generator is described as:
● Bright yellow in colour
● Manufactured by Evopower
● Model number SDG6500SS
● Its serial number is 1003901686

Four empty five-gallon white-coloured drums for storing fuel were also reported stolen.
