News reaches us that Ventnor pin-up, Giancarlo Giancovich (more commonly known as GC), hit the pages of lads’ mag, GQ, earlier in the year.
The beach soccer hero has featured on the pages of VentnorBlog many times before, but it’s great to see the talented sportsman make it into a glossy mag that is read worldwide.
GC, the only member of the England Beach Soccer team to have played professionally, has scored more goals than any other player on the team and only second to Head Coach, Terry Bowes (100) for the number of times he’s captained a game.
In the GQ feature he shares his tips for success, including the importance of keeping his toe nails neatly trimmed. We’re sure there’ll be lots of budding pedicurists keen to offer their services now this is widely known.
If you didn’t see the paper version, you can read the GQ interview online to find out more.
Get involved
If you fancy yourself as a beach soccer player, then why not consider joining a local team by getting in touch with the Isle of Wight Beach Soccer Association or even the England squad.
