Girl Guides: Helper Found But More Needed

Girl GuidesAfter a year of searching for someone to help out with the 1st Ventnor Guides, a short post on the forum, placed by our Town Council correspondent, Mark Compton Hall, has resulted in another success story.

Within half an hour of the message being posted on the forum, a volunteer steeped forward and will now fill the vacancy required to keep the guides going on a weekly basis.

If you were interested but didn’t get there in time, fear not, because there are other posts available that need filling.

On the leadership side, 1st Ventnor Rangers are looking for someone to get on board and take on the role of group leader. Meetings are fortnightly on a Wednesday at 18.45 to 20.30.

If you are not previously trained, all of that will be provided and once you’ve qualified you’ll be able to take to the heml and have some fun. If this sounds like something you’d like to find out more about give Linda a buzz on 520873.

But it doesn’t stop there. In May another unit helper will be required for 1st Wroxall Rainbows. This group meets on Monday afternoon from 16.45 to 1745 Wroxall. If you’re interested in helping out, get in touch with us and we’ll pass on your details.

We’re really chuffed that VentnorBlog is being used for this purpose – not only helping people get in touch with other but being able to recruit volunteers for worthy causes.
