Go Orange 2011 For Independent Lifeboats

Last year the three independent lifeboat stations on the Island managed to turn the Isle of Wight orange for the day; and whilst doing so with the public’s support managed to raise over £11,000 between them.

Go Orange Day Raises Thousands For Independent LifeboatsThis February on Friday the 18th they are joining the other independent lifeboat units throughout the United Kingdom by doing it all again and are appealing for your support to make the day just as successful.

All the units will be out and about fundraising on the day and are hoping that with the support of local businesses and schools urgent funds can be raised for all three units that play such an important part of local life here.

Show your support
Everyone can show their support by wearing something Orange on the day or holding a fundraising event to generate funds for their local unit.

Each lifeboat station will have their own agenda for the day and if you want to help out then contact your local unit directly where they will gladly give you any information needed and some ideas on what you can do.

All these lifeboats are manned by volunteers and no one receives any money for going out and rescuing those in needs so please support these very local causes, where you can guarantee that your money will stay on the Island and go directly to the lifeboat station of your choice
