If you’ve been checking the site today and wondering where all the VB goodness has gone, there’s a good reason for it not having been around.
With less than two weeks until our daughter, Alpha, starts middle school, we’ve decided to take some time off from VB to make the most of those last moments of sweetness and innocence.
She’s spent most of the school holidays away from the Island with family, to enable us to provide all of our coverage, like the 140+ pieces we did on the Vestas sit-in.
To make up for that we’re cutting back on production at VB this week and changing the work/life balance in favour of the family.
Patient isn’t the word
Anyone who knows us as a family can vouch for how brilliant Alpha is whilst being taken around the Island to all manner of events. She sits patiently (mostly) through countless IWC meetings, Town Council meetings, event and exhibition launches with rarely a grumble.
So it’s time for us to show her who is the most important person in our lives and have some quality time together.
Advice on where to go
We’re on the lookout for free or cheap things to do this week, whatever the weather, so we’d welcome your tips for great Island places to go with a nine year old who’s into almost everything.
Not completely on hold
We’ll be putting the occasional story out over the next week, so don’t disappear completely and you can still buy tickets for Summer Madness from us by calling the VB Ticket Line on 898 999. Check VB near the end of the week for details of Saturday opening times.
