At the end of the July, Isle of Wight College in Newport will be hosting the very first motor show on the Isle of Wight totally dedicated to electric transport.
Organised by Wight Community Energy, with support from the charitable trust Power to Change, and broadband provider, WightFibre, the Going Electric showcase will not only focus on electric vehicles (more commonly referred to as EVs), but electric transport in all its forms, including; vans, bikes, drones, charging infrastructure and more.
The revolution is spreading fast
This revolution in mobility is spreading fast and Going Electric will showcase the latest technologies and present visions of the future.
A world of interconnected, pollution-free transport, where new technologies are freeing designers to develop all manner of exciting new products and services.
Talks from leading experts
On the day, there’ll be a series of talks from leading experts on many aspects of the electric transport revolution.
This free-to-attend event is the first to bring together the Island’s leading providers of electric transport all in one place.

You’ll be able to see vehicles from the Isle of Wight’s main dealers; Harwoods, Leslies Motor Group, Premier Motors, Esplanade, Staddlestones, Snows and Central Garage – All on hand with advice and knowledge about the latest EVs from Ford, MG, Kia, Suzuki, Toyota, Hyundai, Mercedes Benz, VW, Volvo, Citroen, BMW, Mini, Renault, Nissan, Peugeot and more.
The dedicated e.Bike zone provides the perfect opportunity to see and test ride the latest bikes and talk to electric bike experts.
Real world stories
Another area expected to be popular is ‘Meet the Owner’, providing the perfect opportunity to meet EV owners and their cars, and ask questions about their day-to-day use of EVs and how they fit into their lives.

Visitors can also see the latest EV Charge Points for home and business together with innovations in Aviation, eDelivery and eCargo bikes.
There are also demonstrations of the latest in drone technology and the opportunity to take control of a Telepresence Robot.

Going Electric takes place on Sunday 31st July between 10am to 4pm at Isle of Wight College, Newport.
It’s free to attend, with plenty of free parking at the college.
