It appears rumours that have circulated on Social Media of a poisoning of badgers in the Golden Hill Fort area are, happily, incorrect.
Discussions have been on a number of Facebook pages yesterday and on seeing it on the Destination Yarmouth’s Facebook page it felt only right to investigate further – either to put people’s mind at rest, or to warn people.
After contacting the RSPCA, an Isle of Wight badger expert and the Police, we’re pleased to be able to say that none of them have had reports of any poisoning in the Golden Hill Fort area.
If you see evidence of poisoning please the relevant authorities and OnTheWight, so we can warn others.
