Keith Taylor, Green MEP for South East England, is putting his weight behind a campaign against the Real Ventures bio-mass plant proposal.
Opposition for the proposed 49MW biomass station at Stag Lane, between Newport and Cowes has been growing and campaigners can now rely to the support of the MEP.
Backing Southampton campaigners too
Keith has been campaigning against biomass stations since the beginning of last year, working closely with local campaigners in Southampton.
Campaigners on the Isle of Wight have gathered almost a thousand signatures against the proposed biomass plant along the River Medina.
Real Ventures were named as preferred bidders for the plant back in 2010 and recently had their preferred bidder status extended for the second time.
Wight Biomess
The anti-biomass campaigning group on the Island are calling themselves ‘Wight Biomess’.
Those who wish to join the campaign can add their signatures to the online petition.
